Jamie and Norah
Here is Jamie with Norah. Jamie is our regular babysitter. She comes every Tuesday to watch Norah while Chiara is teaching.
She is tons of fun, and Norah recognizes her when she comes now.
Jamie was accepted to graduate school in Oregon, so she will be leaving this summer. We are sad to see her go!
Auntie Francesca comes to visit
More visitors! Francesca and Jarrod came by on the way back from their trip out to Colorado. We had a wonderful time with them. Jarrod and Francesca were finally able to procure Riverside, Iowa T-shirts. In case you don't know, Riverside is the FUTURE birthplace of the Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek. He will be born there in 2029. Ask Cecca or Jarrod about it if you want to know more!
We also celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a fabulous Mexican dinner (and Margaritas of course!).
Cruising and Exploring
Norah is venturing away from the coffee table now. She scoots over to her toy bin to check it out. She still always has to hang on to something, but we think it is more for confidence than for support.
Norah's other favorite pastime (beside swinging) is taking things OUT of their containers. She hasn't figured out (or started enjoying) putting the things BACK yet!
Too cool!
Sometimes we are lucky and Norah leaves her purple polka dotted sunglasses on (instead of chewing on them). Here she is again on the swings!
Carousel
Here are Brianna and Jeri (behind Bri) on the carousel at the mall. We had to hang out there because it was about 50 degrees, rainy, and windy for much of the day.
Ahhh, the art of sharing
Here are Norah and Bri either before a fight over the rings, or after one. They always wanted whatever the other was playing with, and it really irked Bri that Norah always wanted to chew on a little brush for Bri's Dora the Explorer doll!
Visitors!
Nonna, Jeri, and Jeri's granddaughter, Brianna, came to visit us in Iowa City shortly after Jake and family's visit! Norah and Brianna played all weekend, and had a great time.
Norah is slow to learn the art of sharing, but she is getting the hang of it.
Here's Grace
Grace loved Norah's little penguin. She kept jabbering away in Chinese to it, telling it that it was too fat, and that it needed some exercise!
Thanks to Jake and family for visiting! We had a wonderful time.
All the way from China!
Jake (who we taught with in China) and his wife Catherine and their two children, Grace and Matthew, came to visit us in Iowa City while they were in the USA for a wedding! It was wonderful to see them and their growing children! Here is Matthew trying out Norah's bouncy seat. He was entertained in here for quite a while!!!
Norah's silly smile
Norah loves to smile like this--her eyes get all squinty and she scrunches her face up. When I do a bunny face, she does this back (but opens her mouth wider!).
Notice the untamed cowlick!
