James likes to chase Norah around--her she is trying to escape! Better open your eyes, Norah!

Home SWEET Home!
After plowing through our 25 hour drive, it was GREAT to be home.
Norah got this sticker at the dentist, and moved it off her shirt onto her belly. Then, she looks at you like, "What are you smiling at?"
Watching the Seals 2
Norah was getting a kick out of the seals AND the sea gulls, both of which are captured in this photo.
Watching the Seals
We went to the Chatham Pier to watch the seals. There were at least 5 seals there, waiting for fishermen to drop them some scraps!
It was a lot of fun to watch them.
Let me out!
James spent his time in the shade digging a deep hole that he could place Norah into! She later fell into the hole and bruised her cheek! Thanks, James!
Catching some rays
Nonna and Jeri on the beach catching some rays!
It was a beautiful morning at the beach--not too crowded---then we left just as the crowds and the clouds rolled in!
Norah and Mommy at Goose Pond
Alessia, Francesca, and I (Chiara) swam across the pond to another beach, and then back. It was really fun!
Norah came out to greet me when I got back to our beach.
At Goose Pond
Here are Norah and Ethan at a little pond on Cape Cod. We were one of only three families there, and it was a beautiful, clear-water pond (lake).
Norah and Ethan had fun splashing in the shallow water.
Rainy Day Portraits 3
And here's Chiara---a self-portrait--on that rainy trip to Plymouth.
Plymouth was actually really neat, and I wish it hadn't been raining. We did get to see the oldest European cemetery in New England, and that was fascinating. James and Jim found gravestones from people who had fought in the Revolutionary War!
Rainy Day Portraits 1
Here's Norah on our way to Plymouth, MA, to see the Mayflower and Plymouth rock. It was raining pretty hard....
Please?
Norah took a LONG time to warm up to her Uncle Marco and Grandpa Vince. Here's Marco trying to lure her in for a kiss!
Josie and Claire
Here are my cousin Gretchen's daughters, Josie and Claire. They loved playing with Jeri's granddaughter, Brianna.
James and Maria
Here are James and Maria chatting as we motored out of the harbor. As you can see, a bank of clouds is rolling in, but luckily, it didn't rain!
Going for a sail
Dad and Maria took us out for an afternoon sail. It was lovely (not too windy or wavy!).
Here's the boys being brought to the boat. See the boat in the background? It's name is Patches, like Nicholas' old dog!
More lemon please
Norah is NOT put off by the sour taste of a lemon... it is funny to watch her go to town on one. Here she is showing the slightest of reactions....it's the best we could do!
Babies galore!
There were tons of babies at the reunion---here are Thomas, William, and Ethan (in no particular order!) hanging out in the awesome old-fashioned playpen that nobody makes anymore!
All the cousins!
Here are all the cousins (who were at the reunion--we were missing a few...). No age order, and I don't want to list all the names, but aren't we a handsome bunch?
All the siblings!
Here are all the siblings in age order! Aunt MaryJo, Aunt Meg, Chiara's Dad (Vince), Uncle Tony, Aunt Claire, Uncle John, and Aunt Janet.
Nice to see everyone together!
Which one's closer?
Sometimes you have to dig down to find the horseshoe that's the closest! It's a very technical sport! Look at all the anxious onlookers!
Horseshoe Tournament
At the reunion, we had a horseshoe tournament in the George Herrmann Memorial Horseshoe pits. Uncle George was a horseshoe fanatic, and everyone kept saying things like, "George wouldn't have let that one slide." Uncle George will be fondly remembered!
p.s. Here is Nicholas trying to win the tournament!
Mohawks are back in style!
We arrived to the family reunion to find my cousin Melanie giving mohawks to all the boy cousins. Here are Colin and Martin showing off their new do's!
James wanted one, too, but had second thoughts when he remembered he has a JOB!!!
Shake it!
Norah has these plastic eggs with little beads inside. They are fun to shake. Here she is adding percussion to our driving tunes!
The Loooooooooonnnnnnggggg trip to Cape Cod
Here is Norah in the car on our way to Cape Cod. She was a real super-star. Due to some severe under-estimates on the part of Google Maps, we were in the car for about 26 hours, and she only whined for about 40 minutes!!!!! Not bad if you ask me!
We are trying to name this Giraffe....any ideas?
Norah and Cade
Norah's friend Cade came over to play in the tiny pool while we hosted a game day at our house. Cade and Norah had a blast in the pool. Norah learned how to use some of the toys after watching him use them!
Where is Baby's belly button?
Norah knows where her belly button is, and she is not too shy to show anyone who asks to see it. She even likes to show me MY belly button in Target or the grocery store!
Can you believe it?
I thought Anita and I would be among a crowd of 30-50 people who drive all the way out to SW Minnesota to see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant, but I was mistaken!!!! You can see all the cars in the background, there. We estimated about 1000 to 1500 attendees!!!! I guess there are a lot more Laura Ingalls Wilder fans than I thought!
Our Favorite Activity...
No matter where we are, we have to find a swingset and make use of it! Here are Norah and Sophia on the swings!
Norah and Sophia
In late July (yes, I know, I need to blog more often), we went to visit Brett and Anita and Sophia in MN. Anita and I went to the laura Ingalls Wilder pageant. James and Brett went to see the Dark Knight, and Sophia and Norah played together (with a babysitter of course!).
It was a great trip, and we all had a great time. We even got to see Anita's parents' farm, and there were some sheep and cows there....Norah liked that a lot!
