Since dinner this evening, Norah has been saying that she wanted to draw Jesus on the cross for me. We went swimming, came home, had a snack, and needed to take a shower, but she wouldn't drop it, so I gave her a piece of "plain white paper" and she went to work.
Here is her picture. You can see Jesus on the cross. He has his crown of thorns on, and there is "blood on his hands and feet."
I asked Norah why she wanted to draw Jesus today, and she looked at me and said, "Because He died on the Cross for OUR sins, Mommy!"
She added flowers near the cross, and told me that they were there so "no one could rescue him off the cross before he died."
Last year at Easter, Norah had a morbid fascination with the Easter story. She would ask James and I to tell her the story over and over, and if we tried to gloss it over in any way, she would stop us and make us tell her the part where Jesus died. I think she was working it all out in her head. This year, I think we are in for more of the same!
She wrote the "To Mom" all by herself with no help or spelling from me!

Jesus on the Cross
Space Suit
Here's a side view of the space suit--they decorated their "packs", helmets, and had special gloves for touching their moon rocks.
The MOON!
Today at school, Norah and her class took an amazing journey to the moon! The parents got to see the moon that had been set up by teachers and other parents: It was a little room set off by black walls. To get there, the kids had to get in their rocket, which was 4 rows of 4 chairs on their backs (like the astronauts are when they launch). Then, they counted backward from 10, and blasted off while watching real footage of an actual rocket taking off. Then they went, in small groups onto the "moon", which meant they put on all their space gear, and entered the little room. Inside, they saw astronauts' footprints, the American flag, the big dipper, little dipper, Earth, and their own moon rocks that they had made.
Here is Norah showing off her space gear and her moon rock! She had a really fun time at school today!

Jelly Belly
We met our friends Krista and Anna at the Jelly Belly warehouse tour in Wisconsin. They had videos showing how jelly bellies are made, and Norah recounted the whole process to James when we got home, so I guess she was listening!
It was a good time, and we all got to wear these cute hats, too!

Luca's first haircut
Luca was NOT into sitting by himself for his first haircut, nor was he into wearing the big black "blankie." So, James took one for the team and held him and got hair all over himself! Thanks, James!
Luca and Norah
Today was the day that Luca got his first haircut, so I had to take some photos of his flowing locks before the big event!
He has been called a girl many times this month, so I guess it was time. Plus, his bangs were so long that they would get caught in his eyelashes!
Bathtime for BooBoo
I snapped some photos of Luca in the bathtub the other day. I had his hair spiked, but it was so long, it kept falling over!
Tool Belt
Grandpa and Oma came to visit in early February, and I was a terrible photo-taker...I only captured this photo of Grandpa and Luca--sorry Oma!
Luca was fascinated with Grandpa's toolbelt...so he got to try it on!
