Not just your old, run-of-the-mill cathedral

Our guidebook said that the cathedral in Parma was not really anything super special, other than that it is an example of Romanesque architecture. When we got there, we could see what they meant--it's really nothing to write home about on the outside. In fact, we had 10 minutes to wait before it would open for the afternoon, and I almost convinced James to just skip it and move on to other sites in Parma.
